Regular/Goofy Stances
By Jeffererey at 15/11/2006 - 6:05pm
A stance is the direction you face while riding a board and the way your feet are placed. If you face left and have your right foot forward, your Goofy footed. If your facing right and have your left foot forward, your Regular footed. Both are natural and neither one is better than the other. If you participate in any other board sports such as skateboarding or snowboarding then your stance should be the same, if you dont then the simplist way is to get a friend to just push you just enough for you to step back, the foot you step back with should be the front foot while riding. Once you have your stance figured out, stand on the board with your front foot forward which you figured out and just get used to the feel.

When riding your regular stance, and move your front foot all the way to the nose of the board and your back foot to the middle of the board, you are in the Nollie stance. This stance should feel like riding switch going backwards, it is a starting point for alot of tricks and combinations.
