Mute grabs can be a nice straight air trick, and can easily be through in with spins. When learning mute grabs, this trick requires tweakage and style, if not tweaked...this trick is considered a "Slob Air".
After popping off the most comfortable jump that does not have ice on the landing, you want to bring your front knee up more than your back and grab the toeside part of the board between the middle of the bindings and the nose with your front hand. When you grab it, your back leg should be not as bent as your front one, while you grab you extend your rear leg and keep your front one bent. When landing unbend the back one and extend the front one a tiny bit and let go of the grab to take the impact stable and ride away.
When grabbing it, try grabbing between the front binding and the nose with your hand on the outer of your leg or try grabbing it more in between the bindings with your arm up against the inside of your leg. When spinning FS, you can grab it at the begging of the spin, but when you spin BS you want to start your spin then grab and tweak to push yourself more Backside. This trick is fun, and looks weird when you have your back leg totally extended, just dont try Mutes and do Slob airs all day. But I do suggest trying it without any tweaking or bone-ing of the back leg to get the feel of the grab.
